Game of Thrones Creators, Benioff & Weiss, To Helm Next Star Wars Trilogy Plus More Shows in Development

After the recent film schedule released by Disney, it left many of us scratching our heads as to the future of Star Wars. Back and forth, between Benioff/Weiss and Rian Johnson, many of us were speculating as to whose trilogy would come first after the finale of the Skywalker saga.

According to Attractions Magazine, from a Q&A session with Disney CEO Bob Iger during the 6th Annual Moffett-Nathanson Media & Communications Summit, Iger was able to more effectively communicate Disney’s plans with the Star Wars franchise:

To be honest, some of us could care less who takes their first shot at developing their own Star Wars trilogy, but after the whole Episode VIII debacle, we believe that Disney is trying to still let the dust settle before they let Rian Johnson take over the multi-billion dollar franchise again. If that’s the case, from a marketing standpoint, checkmate.

Another interesting find from this summit was that Disney is also currently in development of another Star Wars Disney+ Original TV show:

Well, there you have it. Our only hopes is that Ben Kenobi is somehow related to this project and will make a surprise appearance.
