Galaxy’s Edge is certainly one of the greatest and most monumental achievements by Disney when it comes to bringing an immersive theme park experience for its guests.
When Disney first announced their plans on August 15, 2015 to build Galaxy’s Edge, little did they know of the intense hype and excitement that would accompany such a feat. At the time, fans didn’t realize the final outcome of this immense project. We had little details then of what would lay in store for the future of this Star Wars theme park.
Fast forwarding to today, fans now can now see for themselves the finished product of this unworldly undertaking. On May 29, fans of all kinds flocked to witness the dedication of Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. There in attendance, one by one, was Disney CEO Bob Iger, Star Wars creator George Lucas, Billy Dee Williams (Lando), Mark Hamill (Luke) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo).
During the dedication, these characters we have grown to love each shared a heartfelt thanks for the fans that could share in this historic occasion. They also expressed that none of this would have been possible nor thought of without our support and love for such an endearing franchise.
At the end of the dedication, Galaxy’s Edge was officially opened to the public and a quick behind the scenes introduction was given. And without further adieu, here’s the happenings of last nights dedication:
