Throughout the years of Star Wars films, costume designs have been an essential and important piece to transporting fans to a galaxy far, far away. However, nothing is better than seeing years of this evolution come to life.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Lucasfilm will celebrate the history and future of the stormtroopers’ designs. From July 18-21, fans will be able to witness history and the future of Star Wars through an all-new trooper armor exhibit where the new Sith Trooper from this year’s ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ will be unveiled to the whole world.
Wait…there is a new SITH trooper?! StarWars.com unveiled the all-new trooper and it looks like it has led to a lot of speculation from fans regarding what role they have in the upcoming ‘The Rise of Skywalker’. Besides the speculation, the new Sith Trooper has received a lot of positive feedback with some even stating that “it’s one of the best designs in all of Star Wars!” Take a look here:
With breathtaking releases such as this, speculation is generally the norm. However, Making Star Wars claims that what they have, isn’t speculation:
“…they [Sith Troopers] only answer to Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren in the film and that this has some plot significance.”
Wow. Not only will they appear in Episode IX, but it sounds like they play an essential role to the story. However, one thing remains. Could this new Sith Trooper symbol be the new Sith symbol?
According to one Reddit user, Alcida-Auka:
“I noticed that [symbol] earlier and hadn’t realized it was already featured in an upcoming book. Seeing that the symbol ONLY represents Darth Vader and Palpatine, it lends credence to the theory that the Sith Trooper is definitely Palpatine’s thing.
I tend to think the Sith Trooper are Palpatine’s personal troopers, hence their Sith symbol designation, not the usual First Order symbol.”
From what it sounds like, Emperor Palpatine is going to play a larger role than what we think and were told at Celebration. No matter how it turns out, I’m sure that J.J. Abrams will deliver a satisfying ending of epic proportions to the Skywalker saga.
