When it comes to Star Wars, only the best of directors are allowed to touch such a coveted franchise. However, Jon Favreau will be both producer and director for Season 2 of the Disney+ Star Wars original, The Mandalorian.
Although Season 2 has yet to officially be renewed by Disney, Favreau has let the world know that The Mandalorian will not be a one season fling. In fact, he’s already been at work writing the scripts and working with other directors to make sure Season 2 will be even better than the first.
“We’re working on season 2, writing, prepping with the directors and getting ready to direct myself, actually. I didn’t get a chance the last time around because I was doing Lion King. So, I’ll step in for one of them.”Jon Favreau
Disney has chosen only the elite of directors and some rising stars to direct The Mandalorian. For example, Season 1 will have the likes of Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Most likely, we’ll be getting an announcement soon of who the Season 2 directors are because filming is set to begin this Fall.
The Mandalorian Season 1 is set to arrive alongside the release of Disney+ on November 12th.
