Will Star Wars Fans Ever Rule the Galaxy?

They already do.

Fans of the franchise make up this universe. They are the heart and soul of Star Wars. Without them, Star Wars simply wouldn’t be Star Wars. The Star Wars franchise consists of some of the greatest fans the galaxy has ever seen. The fans define the greatest fandom in the galaxy.

Fans Have a Symbiotic Relationship with Star Wars

In Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon Jinn believes he has found The Chosen One- someone who will bring a balance to the Force and destroy the Sith forever. While speaking to this young boy, Anakin Skywalker, he explains the role of the Force and how midi-chlorians connect us to this mystical power.

“Life forms [midi-chlorians] living together for mutual advantage. Without the midi-chlorians, life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. They continually speak to us, telling us the will of the Force.”

Qui-Gon Jinn

Just like how these life forms tell us the will of the Force, we, the fans, have a similar symbiotic relationship with our beloved franchise. You could compare Star Wars fans to these “midi-chlorians,” and the franchise as their host. In connection, we live together for mutual advantage. Without fans, we would have no knowledge of the Force, nor would we have our beloved franchise. Point being, Star Wars would not exist without its fans.

Right now, we are in the golden age of Star Wars. An enormous amount of content is available to its fans. The future of Star Wars is bright. With tons of books, comics, movies, and now TV shows so widely available, this is where the Star Wars fandom shines. The best feeling of being a Star Wars fan is being able to take part in the collaboration process of its future. Star Wars is one of the only franchises that actively listens to its fan base. Again, a symbiotic relationship. The parent company of Star Wars, Lucasfilm, takes the best ideas from its fans and makes it happen. Sometimes, however, they surprise us with something totally new and unexpected. Unfortunately, there are those so-called “fans” who are never happy with anything, but in reality, are they really fans? Absolutely not. Yes, difference of opinion is common in any franchise, but the difference with Star Wars is that both sides hear and speak to each other for mutual advantage. Sound familiar?

The reason why Star Wars fans rule the galaxy in terms of having the ultimate fandom, is because of this symbiotic relationship. No other fan base can rival it. Search your feelings. You know this to be true.
