J.J. Abrams Confirms Ahsoka Tano’s Appearance in The Rise of Skywalker

Formerly known as “Snips,” Ahsoka Tano has been one of the most beloved lightsaber-weilding characters in the Star Wars franchise. First making an appearance in the animated series The Clone Wars as Anakin’s young padawan, then as a general in Rebels, Ahsoka Tano has been a fan-favorite for many years. Although her character never made a live-action appearance in the Skywalker saga yet, there is always a first for everything, especially if J.J. Abrams has anything to say about it.

In an exclusive interview with Japanese reporter P.K. Sanjun, J.J. Abrams made some fans very happy by confirming the appearance of our fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano in The Rise of Skywalker.

Abrams: By the way, who’s your favorite character?

P.K.: Me? Ahsoka Tano.

Abrams: Hmmm, Ahsoka, huh? Well then, you’ll probably want to watch closely during The Rise of Skywalker.

P.K.: Wh-whoa-wait-whaaaaaaaaaat?

Abrams: Hahaha, well, enjoy the movie!”

J.J. Abrams just made a lot of fans happy. The question is whether she’ll actually make a physical appearance in the film or not. Some speculate we may only hear her voice while some go as far as saying she’ll only be a mere passing reference in the film. Although I believe her role will be very limited, I also think her appearance will play an integral part in helping Rey defeat the Evil once and for all.

When The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters on December 20th, we’ll know for certain as to how Ahsoka makes her first ever live-action debut.

What do you think Ahsoka’s role will be in The Rise of Skywalker?
