First reported last week, rumors surfaced that the story for the next Star Wars film, slated for December of 2022, is supposed to be about the High Republic era of the galaxy, set 400-500 years before the events of the Skywalker saga during the time that the Sith’s ‘Rule of Two’ is established by Darth Bane. It’s also rumored that we’ll see Yoda during his early years as a Jedi.
Although the overall concept of the story sounds intriguing, it is just a rumor at this point. However, it seems that today’s new Marvel comic issue, The Rise of Kylo Ren #2, appears to have a reference to the rumored film.
The Rise of Kylo Ren #2 features Luke, Ben, and Lor San Tekka visiting what Lor refers to as a ‘High Republic Era’ Jedi outpost. Is this the first official hint to the High Republic era? It appears so. However, other rumors have suggested that Project Luminous’ storyline is also taking place around the same time period as the High Republic era as well.
With the newly released Star Wars movie timeline, it will be intriguing to witness its expansion and how all of the upcoming stories interconnect into one vast galaxy.
It appears that everything is coming together as Lucasfilm has foreseen and it will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.
Where do you see the next story taking place?
