As reported earlier, the Kenobi series is going through some changes. Variety reported earlier this week that writer Hossein Amini is no longer involved with the series, with scripts being reworked and filming being delayed.
Now they have “industry sources” telling them some possible stand-ins to write for the show – Dave Filoni, of Clone Wars fame (among other things) and David Yost, who has written for The Mandalorian. Filoni is heavily involved in the Star Wars universe, having been mentored by George Lucas himself. David Yost, while a talented writer, may be too tied up with the live-action Cowboy Bebop series coming to Netflix.
While the uncertainty makes us nervous, we have to remember that changes like these happen in many film and television productions. We’re just fortunate they started reworking things before they started filming, which has caused trouble in the past with Star Wars.
As reported before, Ewan McGregor and Deborah Chow remain on the project, something consistent in the midst of all the chaos.
What do you guys think – would Filoni do Kenobi justice? Would Yost? Sound off in the comments!
