Kenobi Series- Rumors & Villains

Rumor has it that A’Sharad Hett, from the old Star Wars Legends, was being considered as the main villain in the Kenobi series before portions of the script were scrapped and new writers were found.

A Redditor known as ParkerWiley posted on the Star Wars leaks subreddit that A’Sharad Hett was to be the villain in the Kenobi series. However, it should be noted that JediPaxis has since commented that zero evidence has been produced to substantiate this rumor. At present, it should be treated with extreme skepticism.

Still, considering the great interest in Legends characters and stories and the enormous amount of content ripe for mining, it seems inevitable that some elements of Legends will find their way into new Star Wars canon.

Hett was a human, though his mother had been raised by Tusken Raiders. Though he began as a padawan under Ki-Adi-Mundi and later was a hero of the pre-Clone Wars era and a warlord of a group of Tusken tribe, he eventually found himself on Korriban and trained as a Sith. After the Galactic Civil War, he called himself Darth Krayt and formed the One Sith, also known as the New Sith Order. Hett found a way to cheat death, having the Chiss make and store several clones of himself. Approximately 125 years following Return of the Jedi, Cade Skywalker (in Legends, a descendant of Anakin and the last of the Skywalker line) defeated Darth Krayt. Krayt’s spirit entered one of his cloned bodies, his intent not only immortality but to defeat the Skywalkers for good. Sounds a little familiar!

The Kenobi series is currently in pre-production, set to begin filming in early 2021.
