Coronavirus Crisis Cancels Disney+ Euro Launch Event

The fear surrounding the coronavirus has caused the Disney+ European launch event to be cancelled.

The event was supposed to start in London this Thursday, followed by press conferences Friday morning. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “U.K.-based journalists will still be able to access a Disney+ lounge for product demonstrations”.

A Disney spokesperson released a statement:

“Due to a number of media attendee cancellations and increasing concerns at the prospect of traveling internationally at this time, we have decided to cancel our Disney+ launch events scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday.”

The conference will instead happen via webcast. Disney+ will still launch in Europe on March 24th. So no fear for SW fans in Europe – you’re still right on schedule for Disney+ content.
