The Rise of Kylo Ren #4 Comic Hints to Something Familiar from The Rise of Skywalker

Spoilers Ahead!

The Rise of Kylo Ren comic series has given us a lot of insight into the past of one of our favorite Star Wars villians, Kylo Ren. His downfall is a sad one that included the involvement of Palpatine in its early stages and made way for his puppet, Snoke, to further manipulate Ben Solo to follow the dark path.

However, something that has yet to be hinted about in this comic was what Palpatine explained Kylo’s and Rey’s relationship as in The Rise of Skywalker:

“The life force of your bond, a dyad in the Force. A power like life itself. Unseen for generations.”

Emperor Palpatine

If Kylo and Rey were a dyad in the Force this entire time, why haven’t we seen nor heard of it pre-TLJ? Well, The Rise of Kylo Ren #4 aims to remedy that oversight. From a leaked page of this upcoming comic, this specific scene shows how Rey could feel the dark side consuming Ben. Little did she know who he was and how she was connected to him via a ‘dyad in the Force’.

Although some may find it aggravating that Star Wars comics these days tend to be the easy way out to cover up any loose ends the newer films may have made, little do they realize that these type of comics are meant to be a companion to those stories and therefore, are meant to provide more insight.

All in all, it will be interesting to see how current stories like these are expounded upon in the future whether through comics or other avenues of storytelling.

Make sure to pick up your copy of The Rise of Kylo Ren #4 when it releases tomorrow!
