We have a breaking scoop today concerning some of our favorite things – Ahsoka Tano, and The Mandalorian.
SlashFilm announced today that actress Rosario Dawson has been cast as a live-action Ahsoka Tano, to appear in the second season of The Mandalorian. While this hasn’t been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Dawson’s reps, we can remain hopeful.
Dawson has been a popular casting choice among fans for several years. In 2017, a fan stated on Twitter that she should appear as Ahsoka in a Star Wars film. Dawson was a huge fan of the idea, tweeting “Ummmm… yes, please?! #AhsokaLives.”
Side note – I had no idea Rosario Dawon was a Star Wars fan, let alone an Ahsoka fan, so my fifteen-year-old self is very happy.
Other fans feel Ashley Eckstein, the voice actress who currently performs as Ahsoka, should be the choice for the role. This is understandable – we’ve had Ashley for over a decade, now.
Either way, the real question is this – what would Ahsoka be doing in The Mandalorian? Could we see her and Sabine coming to reclaim the Darksaber from Moff Gideon? Will it somehow tie into the yet-to-be-confirmed Rebels sequel we’ve heard about? With new information comes many questions.
