Untitled Female-Centric ‘Star Wars’ TV Series in the Works

With the launch of Disney+ comes a world of possibilities in terms of Star Wars television. Today, Variety reported on a new series in the works.

“A female-centric Star Wars show” is in development for the streaming service, to be written and run by Leslye Headland. Headland was co-creator of Russian Doll, a dark comedy series on Netflix.

According to additional information at Deadline, the show will be an “action thriller with martial arts elements and set in an alternate timeline from the usual Star Wars universe.”

With Headland running the show, we’re sure to get a fascinating take on the Star Wars universe.

This show joins the lineup of upcoming Disney+ Star Wars series, including the second season of The Mandalorian, as well as the two in progress, the Kenobi and Cassian Andor series.
