After the success of The Clone Wars, fans were able to see Anakin one last time before his transition into the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. The last time Hayden Christensen was seen in live-action form was in Revenge of the Sith. Still today, some fans have complained about his acting ability compared to his counterpart, Matt Lanter, who voiced his character in the animated TV series, The Clone Wars. While Hayden’s acting ability is another debate entirely, we have found out from LRMOnline that he is in talks to return as Anakin Skywalker one last time.
According to the site, “Our source shared with me that producers are currently in talks with Hayden Christensen to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker! How big of the role is still being debated, so let the theories begin. My guess is that we would see Anakin in some sort of dream sequence that Obi-Wan would have.”
I have been quite active in the Star Wars rumor mill community since before The Force Awakens, and quite honestly, this is the very first time I’ve even heard of this site. I’m not saying they’re wrong, but I highly question the authenticity of there claim. In the end, I hope they are right. And if they are right, my assumption is that this rumor is directly related to the upcoming untitled Kenobi series, directed by Deborah Chow.
LRMOnline went on to explain, “The plan is to announce this news at Star Wars Celebration along with Rosario Dawson being cast as the live action version of Ahsoka Tano. This makes sense on why Star Wars Celebration has not been cancelled yet.”
Previously, we reported that Rosario Dawson confirmed those casting rumors in a roundabout way in an interview with Variety. However, we still need some substantial evidence other than LRMOnline’s claim of Hayden’s return.
Stay tuned here as this story progresses in the coming months.
