The coronavirus pandemic has changed how we live and how we work. Unfortunately, some of those whose jobs require face-to-face hands-on interactions, have been temporarily suspended until restrictions are lifted. Hollywood has taken a huge hit. Movies that were in the middle of production had to cease and desist until further notice. This has caused a landslide of movies being delayed from months to even years.
Disney has bore the brunt of this storm. Today, during the Walt Disney Company’s second-quarter earnings call, CEO Bob Chapek gave us an update on the future return of large-scale movie productions. Aaron Couch of The Hollywood Reporter, shared with us Chapek’s comments on the matter.
While health and safety will always remain priority, I expect productions to begin resuming this summer at some point. Hopefully, no more delays will occur.
