Can’t visit Galaxy’s Edge in person? ILMxLAB just announced today that you’ll be able to transport yourself there via a “new action-adventure VR experience” with Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge.
In collaboration with Oculus Studios, ILMxLAB’s Executive-in-Charge explained, “We are so excited for fans to step into Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge later this year…This action-packed adventure not only speaks to the promise of connected and complementary experiences by extending the lore around Black Spire Outpost, it represents another meaningful step in ILMxLAB’s quest to transition from storytelling – one-way communication – to storyLIVING, where you’re inside a world making consequential choices that drive your experience forward.”
The game will feature an original story with “new characters and explore new regions of the planet Batuu,” and will take place “between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” What makes it unique is that “…guests can immerse themselves in these stories both inside and outside our parks.”
The whole premise of this “experience” sounds fascinating and I wonder if and how Galaxy’s Edge will find ways to integrate this new storyline into their parks.
No release date was given as of yet, but here is a first look at the concept art of the Batuu landscape.
Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge brings the experience of Galaxy’s Edge to your home – another avenue of interaction to help you escape from our pandemic filled reality.
